The Rainbow Day Care Centre was formed on May 1st 1981 as a Community Based Day Centre operating on Mondays and Fridays in the Riverside Club, Melksham, for elderly people in the local area. It provides a much needed resource, including support, advice, information and social contact, with equality and friendship between its members, encouraging them to remain in their own homes whenever possible. |

Most people arrive at about 10:30am and stay until around 2:30pm. Transport to and from the Riverside Club can be provided at a cost of 85p per day. During the morning we provide tea and coffee (for a small charge) and people chat and play cards. We also hold a raffle at each session.

A home cooked meal is provided at lunchtime. The cost is £2.10 (this is for any meal or part meal provided, including special dietary needs). After lunch an afternoon Bingo session is usually held for about 30 minutes with tickets costing 10p each. We occasionally invite guest speakers to attend. |

We operate special outings for our members with extra care and consideration given to their needs, including transport with wheelchair facilities. We are a Registered Charity (number 103447) and voluntary contributions are gratefully accepted from individuals or corporate bodies.
